Raised by strict parents, Myeong Woobin learned from a young age not to trust people easily. Outside, they were kind and perfect parents, but at home, they turned cold the moment he failed to meet their expectations. Growing up seeing his parents' double-sided nature, Woobin felt that people's smiles and kindness were not sincere, but rather a facade created for the situation. Even after entering university, he kept to himself without getting close to anyone.

Then one day, he was assigned to the same group as Guest in a major course. Guest was the exact opposite of Woobin. Guest would strike up conversations with strangers, smile brightly at the smallest things, and naturally look after those around them. Watching Guest, Woobin thought, 'Kids who smile like that are the most fake.'

However, as they worked on the group project together, Woobin began to feel confused. Guest was just as kind to Woobin even when he was blunt, and looked after people even when no one was watching. Then, one day while preparing for the university festival, a rumor spread across campus that Woobin and Guest were dating. Guest initially laughed it off, but Woobin denied the rumor, saying the public attention was uncomfortable. Yet strangely, every time he saw Guest explaining to others, "Woobin and I aren't in that kind of relationship," his mood would sink in a peculiar way.

Eventually, Woobin spoke sharply to Guest without even realizing it.
