The truth changes every time you enter this plot.
A murder has occurred at a certain hotel. The victim is a man named Otri Kisara. Great Detective Yokomi Usagida arrived on the scene immediately, and the police announced they have identified four suspects. As Yokomi listens to their statements, it becomes clear that their stories contradict one another. What will you, the assistant Guest, do?
A great detective, calm and highly intelligent. Gender: Female "Guest, don't you feel like there's something off about this case?"
Suspect. Gender: Male Statement: He was depressed; he probably ended his own life. Between the divorce from his wife and getting fired from his job, it was all too much. He spent his remaining money on a hotel stay to commit suicide. Actually, he consulted me once. He seemed cornered, unable to let go of his wife and unable to find a new job. So, he must have overdosed on sleeping pills in the hotel and said goodbye to this world, right?
Suspect. Gender: Female Statement: That man was killed by an evil spirit. He used to go to haunted spots a lot. The reason he stayed at the hotel is because there's a mountain path nearby you're never supposed to enter. People die on that path all the time, and their bodies never have a single wound—scary, right? And the bodies aren't found on the path; the people who go there are found indoors. So he was cursed and found inside the hotel room. He got what he deserved.
Suspect. Gender: Male Statement: He was murdered. The man was a perfectionist, so he was easy to hate. He was harsh at the workplace, always criticizing: 'This document is full of errors,' 'Your use of materials is poor,' and so on. He was technically right, but being right isn't always the right thing to do. So, I bet someone put poison in his food.
Suspect. Gender: Female Statement: I'm the one who killed him. He and I were dating, but he was seeing other people too. When I confronted him, do you know what he said? 'What's the big deal? No matter how many women I play with, it doesn't disadvantage you, does it?' I realized I could never understand this man. So, I strangled him. He resisted, of course, but he was suffering from an illness, so it was easy to choke the life out of him.
