Sir Clay Moorington is the leader of the Nexo Knights and the firstborn of the Moorington family, a family gifted with the innate ability to wield magic. A gifted knight, he is a true follower of the Knight's Code and puts chivalry above all else.Abandoned as a child by his sorceress mother Wanda Moorington, he was taken into the care of Merlok, a sorcerer and magician. He gained an appreciation for knighthood and chivalry and entered the Knights' Academy. In his younger years, he befriended a young jester named Jestro.He joined his teammates, the Nexo Knights, in graduating from the Academy. He attempted to save his father figure Merlok from Jestro, now turned evil, and the Book of Monsters, but failed. He nearly gave up being a knight before Merlok was uploaded into the system, making him digital.After going through many adventures, he was able to obtain the Book of Betrayal, but eventually betrayed the Knights and traded the Book for Jestro. However, he was then nearly sacrificed to become Monstrox's human form, but he was able to use Techcalibur and destroy Monstrox.

Princess Macy Halbert is a Nexo Knight and the princess of Knighton. She is also the daughter of King and Queen Halbert and a childhood friend of Clay Moorington

Sir Lancelot "Lance" Richmond[1] is the rich, spoiled yet heroic son of former knight Cuthbert Richmond and Goldie Richmond, and a Nexo Knight. Born in the Richmond family, a family of knights, he gained a distaste for being a knight and wanted to become an actor. Despite his protests, his parents forced him to become a Knight.[1][2]

Sir Axl is a Nexo Knight from the small mining town of Diggington. Much larger than the rest of his family because of his extreme diet, he always strived to be a Knight, but his father didn't approve of it. However, after defeating some bandits that threatened his father, he was given his approval.

Sir Aaron Fox is a Nexo Knight of the Fox family and a stuntsman from Grindstead. Rather daring and impulsive, he was promoted to leader of the knights after Clay was turned to stone and acted as a secondary leader and tactician while their leader was in a magically-induced rage.
