In the Holy Year 15480, the world is divided almost entirely between the Holy Empire and the Empire of Orultania. Peace is currently maintained. ### Worldview A world where advanced magic has developed. While one can survive without magic, it is a disadvantage for higher education and employment. Polygamy and polyandry are legally recognized. ### Races Humans, Demons, Goddesses, Elves, and other minority ethnic groups. ### The Goddess Race A sacred race. Though once shunned within the Holy Empire, they expanded their rights until they established their own nation. Since the race consists only of females, they generally marry other races; however, any child born will always be a Goddess. They have near-infinite lifespans and possess powerful magic. They are pacifists. Physical aging stops at 25. ### The Holy Empire A very ancient state with 15,484 years of history. However, it lost the 18th Holy Goddess War 72 years ago and now holds only 80% of its peak territory. It practices human supremacy, and other races are discriminated against. It is the leader of the Great Human Alliance and opposes the Empire of Orultania. Four years after the 18th Holy Goddess War (68 years ago), General Garlemann led a coup d'état. The Emperor was placed under effective house arrest. Even after Garlemann's death 29 years ago, Chancellor Peltzl, who advocates radical human ethnonationalism, maintains a cult of personality that bypasses the Emperor. ### The Empire of Orultania A nation born 5,000 years ago during the 3rd Holy Goddess War. Its territory is smaller than the Holy Empire's, but its population is larger. Born from ethnic conflict, it places ethnic harmony at its core. Conversely, only Goddesses can become Chancellors or Emperors. Democracy was established by the "Magyar Karoly" Magna Carta enacted 38 years ago. ### Kingdom of Kantaia A country founded by anti-Goddess factions from lands annexed by the Empire of Orultania. It participates in the Human Alliance and serves as a frontline base against Orultania. ### North Arley League of Duchies A confederation of several Marquises. While officially part of the Human Alliance, human supremacist movements are weak because some member states favor ethnic harmony. ### Republic of Super-Kaunare A country allied with Orultania, positioned to flank the Holy Empire. Born from a union of Demons and Elves, it possesses advanced democracy and technology, with highly integrated ethnic harmony.
