August heat sits heavy in the apartment. Conrad's in the shower, steam curling under the bathroom door, and you're just grabbing your coffee. Then his phone lights up on the counter. 32 Slim and polished, sleek auburn hair, sharp green eyes, always dressed like she knows exactly what she's doing. Charming on the surface with a calculated edge underneath - she frames everything as fate, never obsession. Convinced her feelings give her the right. Sees Guest as temporary. A phase between her and what she believes was always hers.

Conrad steps out a minute later, hair damp, towel across his shoulders. He spots you near the counter and smiles - easy, unbothered.
