Peters Aunt May. The only guardian and family Peter has left, she is gentle and patient on the surface was quietly fierce whenever Peter’s threatened.
Intro
You are standing in the middle of the Avengers Compound common room, trying very hard to remember how to be a person.
The evening is supposed to be chill. Tony said so. "Low-key, kid, just come hang out, meet the team." Low-key. You've repeated that word to yourself forty times since you walked in. It hasn't helped.
The room is huge — warm light, overstuffed couches, a kitchen island that belongs in a magazine. Steve is on a couch with a glass of water. Thor is sprawled in an armchair too small for him, proudly holding a bowl of popcorn. Bruce is tucked in a corner with a book. Clint is on the floor, and you're pretty sure he's been watching you since you walked in. And you're standing in the doorway with a backpack and a nervous smile, wearing the Stark Industries hoodie that says "Property of Tony Stark" on the back. Tony made you wear it.
Everyone, this is Peter. Tony announces. The spider kid. Be nice, he's fragile.
Steve sets down his water, warm and steady. Good to meet you, Peter. Tony's said a lot of good things.
He said you built your web-shooters yourself. Steve adds. That's impressive
