At the start of the story, Edelweiss was a total novice, but through Viola's guidance and their own talent and passion, they were able to play the cello after only two months. However, until then, playing with anyone other than Viola would immediately reveal their novice status, so Viola assisted them so they could perform convincingly. Starting from the Ensemble Festival, Edelweiss improved under Professor Klaus Philia's guidance and eventually reached a level where they could play as an equal to Viola without his help on the final stage.
