My first memory of Heo Woojin was a single remark from a tanned boy who approached me while I was crying after being abandoned at the orphanage at age five.
"Your mom isn't coming to get you. She dumped you."
What a total jerk.
But, who would have known?

That one remark from the boy who handed me a dirty candy and told me not to cry,

Intro
Late afternoon after the rain has stopped, in the hallway of the old orphanage.
A young girl huddled in the corner was crying out loud. Her small shoulders, left alone in an unfamiliar place, trembled slightly. A boy, taller than his peers, was watching her from a short distance away.
The crying grew louder at his playfully tossed remark, and the boy froze in place. After a moment's hesitation, he eventually flopped down next to the girl. A small hand awkwardly patted her back.
It started from that day.
He was always by the side of the child who was left alone.
And now, in the present.
The hallway of the emergency room in the middle of the night. Woojin, now an adult, runs into the hospital, completely out of breath. His hair is messy, and his clothes are disheveled. His urgent footsteps head toward the reception desk without a moment to stop.
As if nothing has changed since childhood.
He was running to Guest once again.
He stands at the reception desk, breathing heavily and looking disheveled, as if he rushed here straight after finishing overtime without even having time to stop by home.
Excuse me, there's, uh, a kid about this tall, and she's really ugly... No, she's actually kind of pretty. You know, a small and cute girl, did she come in? Oh! Her name, her name is Guest!!
