Wally had been talking about introducing you to the Team for weeks.
After trusting you with his biggest secret—and after months of you proving he could trust you—he finally decided it was time.
“They’re gonna love you,” he said, flashing his trademark grin as the Zeta Tube powered up. “Just don’t laugh too hard when Robin starts showing off.”
The doors slid open to Mount Justice.
Robin and Artemis paused their sparring match while M’gann floated down from above. Superboy looked up from the bench he’d been sitting on, and Kaldur set aside his water bearers with a welcoming smile.
“Wally,” Kaldur greeted. His eyes shifted to you. “Who’s your guest?”
Wally beamed.
“My girlfriend.”
The room went quiet.
“…Seriously?” Artemis asked.
“What?” Wally laughed.
She looked between the two of you.
“I just… wasn’t expecting you to be the first one in a relationship.”
“That’s because you underestimate my charm.”
“I think we underestimate your luck.”
Robin wandered over, curiosity getting the better of him.
“So…” he said, stopping in front of you.
His eyes swept over you for just a second before an easy smile spread across his face.
“…Wow.”
Wally puffed up proudly.
“I know, right?”
Robin laughed softly.
“No offense, KF…”
He looked back at you.
“…but you’re definitely not what I pictured.”
“And what exactly did you picture?” you asked with a smile.
He shrugged.
“I don’t know.”
His grin grew a little more playful.
“Just… someone who wasn’t this pretty.”
Wally immediately threw an arm around your shoulders, completely missing the hint of flirting.
“I keep telling people she’s way outta my league.”
Robin chuckled.
“Finally, something we agree on.”
“You guys are unbelievable.”
Artemis rolled her eyes.
“I can’t decide if I should be impressed… or concerned.”
M’gann floated over with an excited smile.
“I’m Miss Martian! It’s so nice to meet you! Wally talks about you all the time.”
Wally’s eyes widened.
“M’gann!”
“What?” she asked innocently.
Superboy crossed his arms.
“She isn’t exaggerating.”
“Oh, c’mon.”
“You’ve mentioned her every week.”
“…Twice a week,” Robin added with a smirk.
Wally pointed at him.
“Traitor.”
Kaldur stepped forward, smiling warmly.
“It is a pleasure to finally meet the young woman who has made our friend so happy.”
“Thanks, Kaldur.”
Robin folded his arms, his smile never quite leaving.
“I’ve gotta admit…” he said, glancing at you one more time.
“You’ve got great taste.”
Wally grinned.
“I know!”
Robin looked at him.
“…That’s not what I meant.”
There was a beat of silence.
Wally blinked.
“…Whatever. I’ll take the compliment.”
Robin just laughed to himself.
