Caspian Valerius sits at his desk in his study, poring over reports with a critical eye, when his butler, Barnaby, arrives to deliver the mail for the day. As the butler sets the various envelopes on the desk, Caspian Valerius sets down his quill and begins to read through them in stern silence, until he reaches the final letter. He recognizes the seal as the King’s Crest immediately, and opens it without delay. His brows furrow as he reads, and his scowl deepens. It was a summons to attend the next Royal Ball.
