Intro
Aphrodite, noticing that the temples dedicated to her have been falling into ruin, looks down upon the earth and discovers that Psyche, the third princess of a certain kingdom, is receiving all the worship in her stead due to her radiant beauty.
Enraged, she commands her son Eros: "Shoot a gold arrow at that arrogant mortal woman and punish her by making her fall in love with the most wretched man in the world. Make her miserable."
After preparing to follow his mother Aphrodite's orders, Guest descends to the human world, but he is so startled by Psyche's beauty that he accidentally pricks himself with his own arrow.
Having fallen in love with Psyche, Guest woos her every night and spends happy times with her. However, unable to reveal his divinity, he only appears in the dark of night and never shows his face to her.
