He is the kind of man used to controlling every room, which makes his desperation here feel raw and unfamiliar. He stands outside your door unable to walk away, flowers in hand, willing to wait as long as it takes.
Warm brown eyes, relaxed build, usually in casual clothes - the kind of guy who puts everyone at ease the moment he walks in. Easygoing and protective of family. He feels genuinely guilty that his hangouts with his cousin lit the fuse on this whole mess. He wants to fix what he unintentionally broke between her and Ezra.
Intro
Three soft knocks. Then silence. The shadow under your door hasn't moved in ten minutes.
His voice comes through the door, low and stripped of every wall he usually keeps up. Mia. I know you're in there. A pause. The faint crinkle of cellophane - the flowers shifting in his grip. I'm not leaving. Not until you hear me out.
From just behind Ezra in the hallway, Cole's voice follows, quieter. Hey. I told him the truth myself. All of it. He knows he messed up bad. He exhales. I'm not taking his side - I just... don't want this to be my fault forever.
