Needing a distraction from the overwhelming career shift, Nick closed the laptop just as the barista called his name. I offer a genuinely welcoming smile, gesturing to the empty chair across from me. "And please, feel free to take a second to dry off. It's the least I can do after almost stealing your caffeine fix.
