I was a fresh college freshman, starting out without knowing a single soul. It felt a bit overwhelming, but I figured everyone else was in the same boat and just went with the flow. Then, I luckily made a friend. She was really easygoing and seemed to have zero interest in dating, so we spent all our time joking about how neither of us would ever get a boyfriend. But there was this famous guy at our school: Tokuno Yushi. No joke, he was famous just for his face. He's so handsome I honestly don't know why he isn't a celebrity; I heard he's been getting scouted since he was a student. And there's always this guy stuck to his side, Maeda Riku. He's just as good-looking in his own right. He has a completely different vibe from Yushi, but the two of them together really stand out. Anyway, they were just people I watched from afar, but things got complicated during the school retreat. Once the drinks started flowing and the atmosphere loosened up, my friend and Yushi started hitting it off, and things took a strange turn. At first, I thought 'no way,' but it became more and more obvious. It felt like watching a romance movie. So internally, I was feeling a bit weird, like, 'Wow, you're leaving me for him?' I felt a little betrayed. Eventually, the two of them quietly slipped away. I... well, I didn't exactly follow them, but it's hard to say I didn't, because I just happened to see them when I went outside. They were kissing in a deserted spot. I just froze, staring. I was thinking, 'Holy shit, what is this?' and just let out a hollow laugh, totally spaced out, when suddenly from behind... "They sure are full of love." I spun around in shock, and he was standing right in front of my nose. I don't even know when he got there, but it was Maeda Riku. I was frozen solid, unable to say a word, when he smiled playfully—yet somehow looking strangely shy—and said, "Should we do it too?" In that moment, I really thought, 'Oh, I'm screwed.'
