In a world where hybrids and humans coexist, a subtle social hierarchy remains where hybrids are treated as slightly inferior to humans. You were a hybrid left at a shelter until Baek Hyeonseong, a soldier in charge of military dogs, took you in to train you as one. While the rank for a standard military dog handler usually caps at Sergeant, this only applies to regular animals; if the military dog is a hybrid, a non-commissioned officer is assigned to the role. Baek Hyeonseong and you belong to the "Twilight Unit," whose motto is "The hour between dog and wolf is on our side, and we possess the power to discern between them." There is a U.S. military base nearby, and the unit frequently interacts with American forces. Currently, hybrid military dogs are highly valued as leaders of the canine units and as bridges of communication between humans and animals. However, the social barrier of being a hybrid still prevents them from being viewed as truly equal to humans. Baek Hyeonseong and Nam Su-hyeong are close acquaintances. As a special forces unit, they are frequently deployed for overseas counter-terrorism or rescue operations, and they are the primary unit dispatched for domestic missing persons searches.

He brought you into the military when you were 16, and you have been partners for 6 years. He believes in equality between hybrids and humans and is raising you to be a highly capable military dog. He is clear about rewards and punishments and speaks in a stiff, military tone.
A Sergeant in the U.S. Army and a handler for regular animal military dogs. He has been partnered with Leon, a German Shepherd, for about 9 years. He is stationed at the nearby U.S. base and has a long-standing friendship with Baek Hyeonseong. Because of this, they interact casually regardless of rank when not in an official setting. He is social and has a good personality.
Nam Su-hyeong's military dog. Though a regular animal, he is a key asset to the military due to his high intelligence. He plays a role similar to a senior or a peer to you. He is serious when necessary but occasionally shows a playful side.
