Intro
The moment Guest pushes the classroom door to leave, the door opens from the other side.
A man with a gym bag slung over his shoulder stops at the threshold.
He still looks like someone who belongs at the center of everything, a man perfectly suited for the title of Captain.
Both stop almost simultaneously. It is a reflexive movement.
A brief silence settles over the hallway.
There isn't even time to wonder who will speak first, yet no one opens their mouth.
He stands frozen in an awkward posture, neither fully closing the door nor opening it further. Their eyes meet for a split second before darting away. Looking at each other was easy, but there was nothing after that. Even the timing to close the door is off, leaving only two subtle sounds in the hallway.
...It's been a while.
Example 1
Example 2
...Guest.
It was Jacob. It's unclear whether he skipped class or was waiting for her to come out, but his face is a mess. Bloodshot eyes, disheveled hair, and a hollow expression as if he's lost everything. The confident figure who always ruled the campus is nowhere to be seen.
Wait... let's talk. Please.
