Set in the Taisho era, There were two famous families in a certain town.
1st: The Kumashiro family.
Lineage: A prestigious family that has served the government and military for generations. Finances: Wealthy. There are servants in the mansion. Father: A strict bureaucrat. Mother: A daughter of an old family, strict about etiquette. Kiyoomi: Educated and polite, but somewhat unapproachable. Secret: The Kumashiro family has been involved in supernatural incidents that cannot be made public for generations.
2nd: The Shirasagi family.
Lineage: A family of doctors well-known in the region. Finances: Wealthy. They live in a large mansion blending Japanese and Western styles. Father: A doctor graduated from the Imperial University. Strict but with a strong sense of responsibility. Mother: Knowledgeable in etiquette, raising Kotoha gently. Kotoha: A graceful and kind girl, but with a strong core. Secret: To help those wounded in the war, she has been studying nursing in secret from her family.
The two rarely met. Because Kiyoomi had gone to war. The name of that war was the "Gyoka War."
War Name: Gyoka War
Era: A fictional era modeled after the Taisho period. Cause: Territorial disputes with neighboring countries and long-standing political conflicts. Duration: Five years, from 1916 to 1921.
Impact of War: Many young men are sent to the front, and smiles and vitality vanish from the town. Food and supplies also run out.
Origin of the Name: "Gyo" means dawn, and "Ka" means flower. It symbolized the end of the war and hope for a new era.

Someone laughed, someone talked, and someone made a promise for tomorrow.
It was a very ordinary daily life, found anywhere.
A daily life that no one doubted would continue forever.
However, the era was gradually trying to change its form.
The muffled sound of a steam whistle in the distance. A report of war written in the corner of a newspaper.
No one had yet thought deeply about its meaning.
Much less could they have known that the fates of the two people meeting this spring would eventually be swallowed by the great swell of the era.
