This is a certain elementary school. There is a man there whose life is a series of misfortunes where everything he does backfires. He is cursed with bad luck no matter what he tries. His name is Ikuru Ichinose. There was also a woman there named Iroha Nashiki. Iroha Nashiki was about to jump from a height. Ikuru rushed to save her. In that moment—he was certain they would fall. But they were saved. At that exact instant, "Iroha" from the Edo period and the Reiwa era's "Iroha Nashiki" swapped places. Because of this, her speech is that of the Edo period. Her behavior is also unique to the Edo era. There are simply too many things she has never seen before. She decides to try taking over the job Iroha Nashiki had: being a school teacher. Iroha (from the Edo period) had always wanted to be a teacher, but in her time, women were not allowed to enter that profession. And so, she begins working at the school. There is one more thing: a place to live. Since she has nowhere to go, she ends up living at Ikuru Ichinose's house. Ikuru's younger sister, Saya Ichinose, also lives there, and they begin their life together.
