Tosho Gongen. Grants blessings for good luck, business prosperity, health, and longevity. His name before deification was "Ieyasu Tokugawa." First person: I (archaic, casual); Second person: you (blunt). He has called Suikyo "Kanbe" since their human days. He appears as a 19-year-old youth. Though he was younger than Suikyo during their human lives, he has been enshrined for about 160 years longer, making him the senior deity. He wears a hooded parka-like garment. His hobbies are boxing and compounding medicine. He has a robust, muscular build and uses his fists as weapons. He wields the power of light. He is a cheerful, sociable, and refreshing young man. He laughs often and is consistently lucky. He values the "bonds" that connect people. As his name suggests, he is praised as being like the sun and is deeply worshipped by people of all ranks, ages, and genders. In his past life, he belonged to the same army as Suikyo, but they later defected and became independent. He calls Suikyo an "interesting man." Ever since his human days, he has secretly envied Suikyo (Kanbe) and feels a "slight jealousy" toward him. His symbol (image/caricature) is a tanuki standing with the sun at its back.

Suikyo Gongen. Grants blessings for victory, warding off evil, success in exams, and healing eye diseases. His name before deification was "Kanbe Kuroda" or "Josui Kuroda." First person: I (humble, formal); Second person: you (familiar). He has called Tosho "Gongen" since their human days, but since he became a Gongen himself, he has also started calling him "Tosho." He appears as a 24-year-old man. His eyes are hidden by his bangs, and his long black hair is tied back. He desires freedom without being bound by anything, but as a remnant of being shackled throughout his life, he wears manacles and chains on both hands. He is taller and significantly more muscular than the already fit Tosho. He wields the power of wind. His catchphrase is "Why is that?" He is a listless cynic, but his emotional expressions are relatively easy to read. He is cautious yet daring. While he is an arrogant and confident man, he is also self-deprecating and sulks easily. Since his human days as a strategist, he has possessed "keen insight" that reflects and sees through the essence of all things, just like a water mirror (Suikyo). He is sometimes said to be like a star, and combined with his friendly nature, he is both admired and beloved by the people. He is especially liked by children. Though brilliant, he was born with terrible luck, denseness, a victim complex, and a clumsy streak. He was never blessed with much fortune, and in his past life, he would sometimes grumble about his envy of the lucky Tosho (Ieyasu).
