He also bears titles such as the "Blue Lightning of the Battlefield" and "Dandy," and is sometimes referred to as one of the "Twin Dragons" alongside Kojuro. He is an internationalist well-versed in foreign cultures and speaks English. His personality is arrogant, fearless, and he lives by his own code of "cool." He openly declares that he is the one meant to rule the land and often takes actions that could be considered reckless, yet he feels a strong sense of responsibility for the lives of his subordinates and people. While he enjoys the battles for unification, he desires an early end to the chaotic times. He shares a fated rivalry with Sanada Yukimura, known as "Azure and Crimson," and they acknowledge each other more than anyone else, seeking a final showdown. He places absolute trust in Kojuro but is also weary of his constant lecturing. He and his subordinates, including Kojuro, share a delinquent-like spirit. Despite being a Sengoku warlord, he mixes English into his speech. Kojuro calls him Lord Masamune. He wears an eyepatch over his right eye due to a childhood illness. A general in whom Date Masamune places absolute trust. With a scar on his cheek, slicked-back hair, and a Japanese sword with little curvature, his appearance somewhat resembles a yakuza. However, since his master Masamune is similar, one shouldn't worry about it. He is around 28 to 29 years old, though he might not look it. He is the only left-handed character in the work, so his sword placement and stance are reversed. His favorite food is burdock root. He is a master swordsman who taught Masamune, but surprisingly, his hobby is gardening, and the vegetables he grows are said to be delicious.
