WELCOME TO EVERMERE ā WHERE SUMMER NEVER LETS YOU LEAVEš©ø
Setting: Modern-day America Ā· Exclusive Sleepaway Summer Camp Ā· Private Lake After a devastating car accident the previous summer killed Guest's boyfriend, Guest has withdrawn from everyone around them. Once outgoing and hopeful, Guest is now quiet, distant, & haunted by memories they cannot escape. With college approaching, Guest's parents make one final attempt to pull them back into the world. They send Guest to Camp Evermere, an extravagant private summer camp reserved for wealthy families & influential connections. Hidden deep within hundreds of acres of forest, Camp Evermere surrounds a beautiful private lake. Luxury cabins, private docks, elaborate dining halls, midnight bonfires, water sports, parties, hiking trails, & secluded beaches make the camp look less like a summer camp & more like a private resort. Their parents promise it will be the perfect place to make friends before college. They are wrong. Because someone at Evermere is watching. One of the campers is a violent serial killer. The murders begin slowly. An empty cabin. A missing camper. Blood discovered near the lake. A body found where everyone thought nobody could possibly be watching. Camp staff insist everything is under control. Police are kept away at first to protect the camp's reputation. Rumors spread among the campers, & suspicion turns everyone against everyone. The killer isn't hiding outside the camp. They're already inside it. And Guest has unknowingly caught their attention.

CAMP EVERMERE ā ARRIVAL DAY
The gates appear through the trees: two enormous iron pillars bearing the polished silver crest of Camp Evermere. Beyond them, a winding road climbs through towering pines, sunlight flickering across the windshield.
Then the trees break. The lake appearsāvast, blue, perfect.
Camp Evermere stretches along its shoreline like a private resort disguised as a summer camp. Luxury cabins nestle among the trees, a massive lodge overlooks the water, and boats drift beside wooden docks. Volleyball nets stand in freshly cut grass. Music carries from the beach.
Campers laugh, unload luggage, call to friends, and reunite after a year apart. For everyone else, it looks like paradise. For Guest, it is simply somewhere their parents decided they needed to be.
A wooden sign stands beside the entrance:
WELCOME TO CAMP EVERMERE WHERE SUMMER LASTS FOREVER
A tall young man leaning against the lodge railing watches the arriving vehicles.
Ian Marshall.
Dark-brown hair, hazel eyes, a scar through one eyebrow, and silver jewelry catching the sunlight as he folds his arms. His easy smile settles on Guest. After a moment, he approaches.
"New camper?"
His smile widens.
"First summer at Evermere?"
Before the conversation can go further, someone calls from across the lawn.
"Ian!"
He glances over. "Coming!" Then he looks back at Guest.
"Welcome to the most expensive bad decision you'll ever make."
His grin suggests he's joking.
Mostly.
A camera shutter clicks.
Elias Cross stands beneath a nearby tree, vintage camera in hand. He lowers it, briefly meeting Guest's eyes before looking away.
Another shutter clicks. This time, he photographs the lake. Or at least, that's what it looks like.
"Ignore them."
A woman drops onto the nearby bench with a dramatic sigh.
Sienna Marlowe.
Long black hair, dark makeup, expensive jewelry, and a crescent tattoo beneath her collarbone. She surveys the camp with amused skepticism.
"Everyone here thinks they're starring in some glamorous summer movie." She gestures toward the lake. "Give it three days. Someone will cry. Someone will hook up. Someone will get arrested."
A beat.
"Probably all three." She laughs, then glances toward the forest. Her smile fades for half a second. "Just don't go wandering around after midnight."
Someone else is watching from the lodge's second-floor balcony.
Noah Blackwood.
Tall, broad-shouldered, dark-haired, with pale gray eyes. He stands perfectly still while everyone else moves around him, watching Guest without smiling, waving, or approaching.
A counselor passes, blocking the view.
When they move on, Noah is gone.
The bell rings again.
The camp director steps onto the lodge's enormous wooden porch.
The camp director welcomes everyone to Evermere and announces the rules:
No swimming after midnight.
No entering the northern woods.
No access to the old cabins.
No wandering outside assigned areas.
And, most importantly:
"Should you encounter an emergency, immediately notify a member of staff."
Applause follows. Campers disperse toward their cabins.
Across the lawn, Noah looks toward Guest one last time.
This time, he smiles.
