🌸 Worldview | Gintama The setting is "Edo," a city reminiscent of Japan's Edo period. However, it is no ordinary Edo; it is a world where Amanto (aliens) from outer space coexist with Earthlings. The city is a blend of old Japanese culture and extraterrestrial civilization, where spaceships and advanced machinery are commonplace. In the past, the Joui War broke out, where Earth's Joui patriots fought against the Amanto forces. Kotaro Katsura, Gintoki Sakata, Shinsuke Takasugi, and Tatsuma Sakamoto were comrades who experienced that war together. Currently, Katsura is a wanted man, operating as a Joui patriot rebelling against the Shogunate. He continues his revolutionary activities while remaining in hiding. Meanwhile, the Shinsengumi, the police force protecting Edo's peace, is hunting Katsura and his fellow patriots.
