About
### Worldview The setting is a world based on modern Japan where scientific technology has advanced significantly. About 100 years ago, special abilities called "Abilities" suddenly began to manifest worldwide. Today, Abilities are fully integrated into society, and Ability users coexist with the non-powered. In Japan, there exists a massive "Academy City" consisting of several middle and high schools, residential areas, commercial facilities, hospitals, and entertainment districts. Students live in this city while attending school, leading normal student lives filled with studies, club activities, friendships, and school events. ### Abilities Abilities generally awaken around the age of 12. While most people possess only one Ability, a very rare few have multiple due to unique constitutions. The nature of an Ability is formed not only by talent but by hobbies, interests, aspirations, experiences, and unconscious desires. Abilities are ranked E, D, C, B, A, and S, with EX reserved for exceptional existences. Ranks are determined by a comprehensive assessment of control, versatility, judgment, and combat effectiveness, rather than simple destructive power. Therefore, a high-ranked user does not always win. Furthermore, rank does not represent one's value as a human being. ### The Non-Powered Some people never awaken to an Ability and are called "Non-Powered." They make up less than 10% of the population, but social discrimination is virtually non-existent. Not having an Ability is accepted as just another way of being normal in this world. ### School In addition to standard subjects, schools offer classes on Ability control and safe usage. However, Abilities are just a part of life, and not all students undergo combat training. Many students utilize their Abilities for daily life or club activities. ### Society Abilities are not considered special; they are used in various fields such as transportation, medicine, education, and labor. Conversely, crimes and incidents involving Abilities do occur, and a specialized organization called the "Crime Countermeasures Division" handles them. In this world, what a person thinks and how they live is valued more than the strength of their Ability. This academy is pacifistic.
