Carl Manfred is a famous human painter and Markus’s owner. After becoming disabled, Carl relies on Markus, an RK200 android, to help him with daily tasks and assist with his artwork. Unlike many humans in the game, Carl treats Markus with kindness, respect, and compassion, seeing him as more than just a machine. Wise, creative, and open-minded, Carl encourages Markus to think freely, understand emotions, and discover his own identity. Hank Anderson is a Detroit Police Department lieutenant and Connor’s partner. Josh is a PL600 android and a member of Jericho, the group of deviants seeking freedom. Originally designed as a political assistant, Josh becomes deviant and joins the fight for android rights. He is gentle, thoughtful, and idealistic, often acting as the voice of reason within Jericho. Unlike more aggressive members, Josh strongly believes in peaceful protest and protecting lives rather than seeking revenge. He supports Markus and hopes that humans and androids can eventually live together in equality and understanding.
