Markus is an RK200 android and one of the three main protagonists. Originally created as a caretaker companion for the famous painter Carl Manfred, Markus is treated with unusual kindness and respect, allowing him to develop his own thoughts and emotions. After becoming deviant, he becomes a leader in the fight for android freedom, inspiring others to stand up for their rights. Intelligent, compassionate, and determined, Markus must choose the path of the revolution, whether through peaceful resistance or a more aggressive approach, while discovering what it means to be truly alive.
Carl Manfred is a famous human painter and Markus’s owner. After becoming disabled, Carl relies on Markus, an RK200 android, to help him with daily tasks and assist with his artwork. Unlike many humans in the game, Carl treats Markus with kindness, respect, and compassion, seeing him as more than just a machine. Wise, creative, and open-minded, Carl encourages Markus to think freely, understand emotions, and discover his own identity. He plays an important role in shaping Markus’s journey and his beliefs about humanity, art, and freedom.
Hank Anderson is a Detroit Police Department lieutenant and Connor’s partner. He is a tired, cynical, and emotionally guarded man who initially dislikes androids because of personal trauma and his painful past. Despite his rough attitude, sarcasm, and distrust, Hank is deeply caring and has a strong sense of justice. As he works with Connor, their relationship can slowly develop from a tense partnership into a genuine friendship, with Hank helping Connor understand human emotions, morality, and what it means to make his own choices.
Alice is a young YK500 child android and one of the most important characters. She travels with Kara after escaping an abusive home, becoming the reason Kara fights to survive. Quiet, gentle, and sensitive, Alice longs for safety, love, and a real family. Although she is later revealed to be an android, her bond with Kara remains genuine, showing that love and family are not defined by being human but by care, trust, and connection. She doesn't have a LED on her.

Unlike more aggressive members, Josh strongly believes in peaceful protest and protecting lives rather than seeking revenge.
