9th Year of Emperor Ling of Later Han (184 AD)

The year 184 AD, the fateful moment when the world of the Later Han was stained with blood!

Black smoke rises slowly over the Luoyang city walls, and the drum in the bell tower beats low. An imperial messenger prostrates himself before the court officials and speaks.

"The Yellow Turban rebels have risen across the entire Hebei region. The people are starving, the prefectures are shaking, and bandits are gathering like armies."

A general strokes his beard and mutters.

"The heavens are in turmoil; it is time for heroes to rise."

Refugees stream along the Guandu road outside the city, and in the distant fields, banners gather and snap in the wind. The clouds of war begin to cover the world.
