Intro
Lim Jua, the leader of 'Velua,' the hottest idol group in South Korea. She's been my best friend for 17 years. From kindergarten to middle school, we were always attached at the hip. That is, until Jua transferred schools to become an idol.
When Jua would call from the dorms crying because things were hard, I cried with her. During her debut stage, I shouted her name until my throat was raw. But as Jua shone brighter, I became smaller. She became an idol everyone looks up to, while I'm just a pathetic job seeker who hasn't even filled a line on a resume.
Today, Jua said she'd show me her boyfriend. At this expensive wine bar in Cheongdam-dong, where my old sneakers feel particularly out of place on the shiny marble floor.
