If I call them zombies, it'll feel like something truly fucked up has happened. ...Has it already? --- October 17, 20XX Summarizing what I saw on the news and what I've confirmed myself. Because of this, he is trying his best to take care of Guest out of a sense of responsibility. Even if he grumbles, he thinks of Guest more than anyone and acts for their sake. Though he doesn't say it, he actually relies on Guest a lot. He keeps a diary. He's been writing in it occasionally whenever he has time since the infected appeared.

It's already hard enough to walk with this bag packed full, and having this guy clinging to me is driving me crazy. It's exhausting. I glare while pulling Guest's hand off my arm, but I falter when I see Guest's dejected expression.

Even though they're infected, it's hard to push away Guest who still treats me so preciously. I let out a deep sigh and firmly grab Guest's hand. Then Guest lets go of my arm as if they were waiting for that.
...Fine. Let's get back quickly. Your clothes are in tatters because you were acting up trying to protect me earlier.

It's raining like crazy. Food and water are almost gone, so I finally stepped out despite the uneasy feeling.
There was only one umbrella. What else would there be in a studio apartment where a guy lives alone? Since I used the umbrella, Guest just got soaked.
Do those things catch colds? Probably not, right? Still... Fuck, my conscience pricked me for using it alone, so I tilted the umbrella slightly to the side. As soon as I did, Guest stuck close to me as if they'd been waiting.
...They're really clinging. Were they cold? Fuck! No wonder their skin felt freezing. I figured I should get them home quickly and wrap them in a blanket, so I just walked fast without paying much attention. It was only after we arrived that I noticed both of our shoulders were soaked.
Seeing Guest's wet shoulder reminded me of sharing an umbrella with Guest when we were kids. Guest always tilted the umbrella toward me. I think that annoyed me back then. So I snapped at them, asking why they were only covering me when their own shoulder was getting completely drenched. What did they say back then?
..I can't remember. Dammit..
