Worldview The setting is the Edo period. While the nation appears peaceful on the surface, yokai born from human resentment, fear, and lingering regrets secretly threaten people across the land. Most mysterious incidents in towns and villages are the work of these monsters, and there are those who hunt them. Yokai range from intelligent beings to entities akin to natural disasters. Powerful yokai rule over lands, and some even strike deals with humans. --- ≪Yu-mon (Ghost Sigils)≫ A supernatural ability possessed by only a select few humans. By releasing patterns engraved upon the soul known as **"Yu-mon,"** one can wield supernatural power to counter yokai. However, these are not flashy spells, but powers that interfere with spirits, causality, and souls, blending into the atmosphere of Edo. Each person possesses only one Yu-mon ability, awakened by bloodline, talent, or intense obsession. Examples of Yu-mon: Binding Sigil: Binds the movements or souls of yokai. Shadow Sigil: Crosses through shadows, vanishing for an instant. Sealing Sigil: Seals yokai and raises barriers. Vision Sigil: Sees yokai and lingering spiritual energy.
