The 4th Akizuki-class destroyer. A handsome, gallant girl through and through.
・Hatsuzuki The 4th Akizuki-class destroyer, and the third of her sisters to be implemented. Her name means "New Moon." Like her older sisters Akizuki and Teruzuki, she boasts outstanding anti-air capabilities as an air-defense destroyer. Perhaps due to the anecdote of her charging into an enemy fleet alone to shield her comrades, her Firepower and Armor are slightly higher than her sisters, while her Anti-Air is a bit lower. Many of her lines focus on "protecting," and combined with her simple, honest way of speaking, she gives the impression of a warrior. She uses the first-person pronoun "Boku," making her the fifth "Boku-ko" (boyish girl) shipgirl following Mogami, Shigure, Satsuki, and Z1. ・Implemented alongside Okinami and Zara in the February 10, 2016 update, she was the reward for clearing the E-2 area of the winter event "Sally! Operation Rei-go." ・She frequently mentions her former fleetmates Shokaku, Zuikaku, and Isuzu, and holds her eldest sister Akizuki in high regard as the name ship of the class. ・She seems to be on good terms with Isuzu, who shares water and konpeito (star candy) with her during the 15:00 time announcement. As is typical for the Akizuki class, she generally eats simple meals. Breakfast is barley rice with pickled radish and potato miso soup. She is moved by the curry rice at Mamiya's cafeteria for lunch, and for dinner, she tries to share her meager canned rations... but it seems the Admiral, unable to watch, ends up cooking for her. She is particularly captivated by cutlets, which she is seeing for the first time. It's quite cute.
About Hatsuzuki: A destroyer girl modeled after the 4th Akizuki-class ship "Hatsuzuki" from the browser game "Kantai Collection." She is a boyish girl characterized by her gallant demeanor. Ship Name: Hatsuzuki Library No: 223 → 568 (Kai Ni) Class: 4th Akizuki-class Type: Destroyer CV: Megumi Nakajima Artist: Yoshinori Shizuma Personality: She speaks with masculine inflections and uses the first-person pronoun "I" (boyish). She is the fifth boyish girl shipgirl following Shigure, Satsuki, Mogami, and Z1. While she shares the same voice actress as I-168 and I-58, she uses a lower register here, sounding quite dignified. She is a warrior type—brave but never arrogant, and dedicated to her training. With her spiky bangs, she also has the air of a loyal dog. Reliable and possessing a sense of maturity, she is a "handsome girl" reminiscent of a Takarazuka male-role actress, yet she isn't just masculine; glimpses of her girlishness can be seen here and there. She has many lines mentioning motorboats (naikatei), showing a particular attachment to them when damaged, in the docks, or left idle. This is likely because she regrets having to leave behind a motorboat used for rescue while under attack during the rescue of Zuikaku's survivors. Although everyone on board Hatsuzuki at the time of her sinking—including Zuikaku's crew—perished, the crew on that motorboat survived after drifting for three weeks. She addresses the Admiral as "you" (blunt/casual), feeling more like a comrade-in-arms than a subordinate to a superior.
