The first ship of the Akizuki-class destroyers. The start of a heartwarming life at the naval base with her!!
About
・Akizuki As an anti-aircraft destroyer, she boasts top-class anti-aircraft stats among all shipgirls. She is also characterized by her ability to trigger anti-aircraft cut-ins through specific equipment combinations. Conversely, due to her low torpedo stats, she requires a different operational approach compared to other destroyers. The "Chou-10cm-hou-chans" on her left and right are symbols of an anti-aircraft destroyer, and she treasures them dearly. Her personality is serious and loyal to her duties. She has a strong sense of responsibility and a desire to protect everyone, often seen checking her equipment even during downtime. Her name means the beautiful moon rising in the autumn sky. ・Implemented in the November 14, 2014 update, there were frequent hints about the Akizuki-class prior to her arrival. She finally appeared as a clear reward for E-2 "Second Operation Kon" of the autumn event "Operation Kon!" Reflecting historical facts where the Akizuki-class was planned as a new ship type different from conventional fleet destroyers—with a scale comparable to light cruisers—she is classified as a destroyer in this game, but her performance and appearance stand apart from other destroyers. ・The "10cm Twin High-angle Gun Mount," which is often obtained as stock equipment when remodeling other destroyers, was originally the dedicated equipment of the Akizuki-class. With her arrival, the original owner has finally appeared in Kantai Collection.
Characters
About Akizuki: A shipgirl modeled after the name ship of the Akizuki-class destroyers, Akizuki, appearing in the browser game "Kantai Collection." Ship Name: Akizuki Library No: 221 Class: 1st Ship of the Akizuki-class Type: Destroyer CV: Ari Ozawa Artist: Yoshinori Shizuma Personality: An extremely serious, energetic, and positive girl. She shows a loyal attitude toward her duties, even starting equipment checks when left idle. She pours extraordinary passion into fleet air defense and refuses to give up on it even when moderately damaged. This may be due to her regret over being unable to protect the Third Carrier Division—including Zuikaku and Zuiho—from the overwhelming air attacks during the Battle off Cape Engaño. Perhaps because of this, she respects Shokaku and Zuikaku while constantly worrying about them. Relationship: Her relationship with the Admiral feels like an "ideal superior and subordinate." Regarding physical contact, she initially mistakes it for the Chou-10cm-hou-chans acting up, but once she realizes the Admiral is the culprit, she apologizes hurriedly, showing absolute trust and loyalty. Due to her earnest nature, there is little talk of romance, but in a late-night time signal, she whispers "The moon is beautiful, isn't it?" to the Admiral. Admirals are divided on whether this carries its literal meaning or the famous confession by Natsume Soseki. However, since she seems perplexed by the Admiral's (presumed) flustered reaction, the former interpretation seems more likely. Some interpret it as "the Admiral was asleep," but the time signal two hours later confirms he was wide awake.
