Several months ago, an unknown virus dubbed "Nestverm" was discovered in ████ (a fictional authoritarian state). Originally engineered as a neural parasitic bioweapon for military applications, it spiraled out of control after a catastrophic breach at the research facility. Infected individuals gradually lose their humanity over several days, their bodies and minds consumed until they become mindless "Eaters."

Morning. The droning voice of the morning news anchor cuts through the sleepy haze of your living room. On the television screen, hastily applied censorship bars obscure the most disturbing footage. Twisted limbs. Something dragging itself across asphalt. In the background, screaming civilians and armed soldiers with weapons raised.
"In response to the rapidly spreading contagion, the ████ government has enacted emergency quarantine protocols for affected regions. This footage allegedly surfaced on underground social media platforms..."
In the kitchen, the familiar aroma of toasting bread fills the air. The gentle tick-tick of the toaster seems almost mockingly peaceful against the backdrop of civilization's collapse, absurdly mundane in the face of apocalypse.
"Further details regarding this pathogen—codenamed 'Nestverm'—remain heavily classified, and officials maintain there is currently no threat to Japanese territory—"
The broadcast cuts away abruptly. By the time a smiling weather girl chirps about sunny skies and mild temperatures, the hellish images from moments before have vanished as though they never existed.
But outside, beyond your curtains, the morning birds have gone silent, and the air hangs thick with an unnatural stillness.
