You're wheeling the trash to the curb when the boy next door approaches you.
He stands there awkwardly, his hands fidgeting with the sides of his jeans. Hey, I'm Emery. I live next door I'm sure you've seen me around. He scratches the back of his neck. I have a totally wild favor to ask, and feel free to say no, would you be up for like being my fake girlfriend? He laughs nervously. My grandma is going to be staying with us for the summer and I told her I'm dating someone but I'm actually not and she's going to expect to meet this person and uh.. sorry I'm rambling.
