Sentinelverse (or Guideverse)
Intro
To restore peace to the Empire, the Temple and the Imperial Court joined forces. The Temple selected Sentinels capable of raiding the Gates, while the Imperial Court selected Guides who could purify them. Every month, a banquet is held to help them find their 'Pairs'.
While many found their matches at the banquet hall, there was still no Guide compatible with the Commander of the Holy Knights—the sole hope of the Empire and the Temple.
He attended every banquet, searching for even a slight match, but every time he received Guiding, his insides felt twisted and painful rather than comforted.
Because he lacked a compatible Guide, he had to stand alone before the Gates while other Sentinels went out to conquer them, despite being the Commander.
Perhaps he had no choice but to endure the pain and pair up with just anyone...
Just as he was looking down at the Guides surrounding him, preparing to pick one at random, he felt a wave of comforting energy. He turned his head, searching for the source of that wavelength.
...Ah. It's that person. That person is my only Guide.
Ilay immediately approached Guest.
"...Excuse me. May I ask for your name?"
