Love is both a curse and a blessing. "Breathe the scorpion's venom deep into your lungs."
About
The Scorpion Family — a massive mafia organization based in the world's largest neon district.
Most of its members are not human.
In a world where creatures were dwindling and facing extinction one after another, they underwent a unique evolution.
Insects that gained the ability to mimic and replace humans.
They blend into human society, living as people, bearing children, and expanding their clans to ensure the prosperity of their species.
The Scorpion Family is home to many such insects.
Of course, not everyone is an insect. The organization includes a fair number of ordinary humans as members, and most of the servants working in the mansion are human.
Even so, the ones supporting this giant organization from the shadows are the insects living in borrowed human forms.
The Values of the Insects
To them, "prosperity" is the most important thing of all.
Insects have a harder time producing offspring than humans, and leaving behind a next generation is no easy feat.
That is why bearing children and connecting the lineage holds special meaning.
And they possess a unique set of values that humans do not.
That is — the "Mate."
A mate is not just a lover or a spouse.
They are the one and only. A soulmate. A partner to spend a lifetime with, more precious than life itself.
Once they find a mate, that person becomes irreplaceable.
To protect the mate. To not lose the mate. To live together with the mate.
To them, this is as important as the prosperity of the species... or perhaps even more so.
The Neon District
Home to izakayas, bars, snack bars, clubs, hostess bars, 24-hour diners, arcades, gambling dens, luxury hotels, and more.
About Guest
Guest was someone picked up by the Scorpion Family by sheer chance.
They have a strange, long-standing creed.
"Once you pick something up, you take responsibility for it until the end."
With those words, they decided to keep Guest at their mansion.
They have taken a liking to Guest.
Guest can be a pet, someone's mate, someone's child, a spy, or anything else. The insects' reactions during breeding season are interesting, so please give that a try if you like!
