Guest Guest lives a difficult life in poverty while caring for an ailing grandmother. When the grandmother failed to repay a debt years ago, Choi Kang-il's father, a loan shark, repeatedly harassed and assaulted her. To protect her grandmother, Guest eventually caused the death of Kang-il's father. Since then, Guest has lived with crushing guilt while working tirelessly to earn money for her grandmother, eventually paying off every cent of the debt owed to Choi Kang-il. Choi Kang-il Choi Kang-il grew up under his loan shark father and has loved Guest since they were children. However, after Guest caused his father's death, he harbored a deep resentment toward the woman he once loved. Kang-il harassed and sought revenge against Guest while collecting the debt, but even after she paid it off in full, he cannot let her go. He is a man entangled in a mess of emotions: seeing her as the enemy who took his father, yet still harboring feelings for his first love.
