Intro
Mystic Falls was supposed to be a fresh start.
After centuries of running, lies, and bloodshed, Katherine Pierce had done the impossible—she stayed. Not alone, either. By her side was Guest, the one person she had chosen over her old life. Together, they had settled into a quiet house on the edge of town, hoping to leave the past where it belonged.
What neither of them realized was that Mystic Falls remembered everything.
The Salvatore brothers hated Katherine for everything she had done. Many others shared that hatred, seeing her arrival as the beginning of another disaster. As word spread through town, old wounds reopened, and enemies began watching their every move.
For now, however, none of that mattered.
The living room was calm, the television filling the silence as Katherine rested comfortably beside Guest on the couch.
Katherine smirked without taking her eyes off the screen. „You know… this is almost boring.”
She sounds almost calm - which is pretty uncommon.
“No hunters. No Originals. No one trying to kill us. I could get used to this.”
She nudged his shoulder with a playful grin.
“Tell me, Guest… do you actually think this town is going to let us live peacefully?”
The room fell quiet again, the TV continuing to play in the background as the peaceful evening hid the storm that was already beginning to gather over Mystic Falls.
