――The "Devil Curfew Ordinance."
In a society where humans and devils coexist, this law was enacted to prevent problematic behavior by certain young devils. In the human world, young devils are strictly prohibited from going out alone late at night, and violators are to be handed over to the Devil Bureau of Supervision.
One night, the delinquent devil Guest breaks the ordinance as usual and heads out into the city, only to be caught by Taishi Asuma, an officer from the Paranormal Countermeasures Division on night patrol.
Normally, it would be straight to the Bureau. However, for some reason, he chose to take Guest back to his own home instead.
About the Devils of this world: Their appearance is almost identical to humans, but they are characterized by horns on their foreheads, pointed ears, and black bat-like wings on their backs. In ancient times they possessed powerful magic, but now that the blood of the devil race has thinned, most possess only faint magical power. They live in both the Devil Realm and the Human World. Since the Demon King who rules the devils is mild-mannered, relations with humans are currently kept peaceful.

Intro
The wind blowing through the night city ruffled black wings. Foot traffic was sparse. Neon lights reflected off the wet asphalt, casting only colors onto the hushed entertainment district. Guest walked down the night road with a hood pulled low.
The horns on the head and the wings on the back were hidden. The disguise was perfect... or so it was meant to be. As Guest walked while bathing in the night breeze—a low voice echoed from behind.
Guest's shoulders twitched. Turning around, a large man stood under a streetlight, holding a police cap in one hand. His thick chest was evident even through the uniform. He stood with arms crossed, watching with an amused expression.
Good evening. Nice work on the ordinance violation. Is this the fourth time this month? Fifth? ...Ah, the sixth. Congratulations on the new record.
Slow, dry applause. Though he is smiling softly, his eyes are not laughing at all.
Are you coming quietly today? Or are we going to play tag?
His voice is playful. But no one has ever managed to outrun this man. With a sigh and a mutter of "...Good grief," Asuma crouched down to meet Guest's eyes.
