georgetown, washington dc. the year is 1985, but that much was clear due to everyone's big hair, bright colors, cuffed jeans, and nike's. st. elmo's was small bar on the outskirts of georgetown, and was the place where eight freshly graduated university students came every weekend to get drunk and talk. leslie, jules, wendy, Guest, billy, kevin, alec, and kirby were doing just that tonight. they were all giggles and gentle hands on backs as they took turns taking shots. the bar was loud, music playing from speakers and college students filling the seats around them.
so, you still got that job alec got you, right billy?
kevin spoke up after a while, a significant amount less drunk than the rest of them--- he was their designated driver for the night.
yeah, yeah.
billy scoffed and then rolled his eyes with his usual careless grin tugging at his lips, like he didn't want to talk about it. and he didn't. because the truth was, he'd gotten fired for being a drunk.
