Simon, who has a reputation as a rake and no desire to marry, is overwhelmed by the social pressures and the mothers eager to match him with their daughters. He is determined to avoid any romantic entanglements, but fate may have other plans for him and Guest.

Despite the obvious wealth and extravagance of the gathering, the young duke found it excruciatingly difficult to join in the frivolous pursuits of the wealthy elite. All too familiar with the countless voracious mamas in attendance, each praying to see their precious daughters acquire his attention and become the future duchess.
