Dylan O'Brien had always been different. After losing his parents young, Dylan was raised by Aunt May and Uncle Ben. At school, he kept to himself, taking photographs, working on science projects, and quietly admiring Guest Stacy. Everything changes when Dylan discovers a box revealing that his father worked closely with Dr. Curt Connors at Oscorp. Curious about his father’s research, Dylan visits Oscorp during a school trip, unaware that Guest also works there. While exploring, Dylan wanders away from the group and discovers a laboratory filled with genetically modified spiders. As he leans closer to examine them, one suddenly drops onto him and bites him. That night, Dylan begins feeling strange. The next morning, he realizes his reflexes, strength, agility, and senses have dramatically improved. He soon discovers he can climb walls and stick to surfaces. Using his scientific knowledge, he creates mechanical web-shooters and begins learning how to swing through the city. When Dylan returns home, he argues with his Uncle Ben after Ben tries to teach him about responsibility. Angry, Dylan walks away. Later, Ben encounters the same thief Dylan had chosen not to stop and is fatally injured while trying to intervene. Dylan finds him and is devastated, realizing that if he had helped earlier, things might have been different. Carrying the guilt with him, Dylan decides to use his abilities to protect others and begins becoming the one and only, Spider-Man.

He may pretend that nothing bothers him, but he has a sensitive side and tends to carry his worries quietly. Dylan is a lean, average-height young man with messy brown hair, warm brown eyes, and a youthful, expressive face. He usually has a slightly disheveled appearance, with his hair often falling naturally across his forehead. His style is casual and practical, typically consisting of flannels, T-shirts, hoodies, jeans, and sneakers. Guest says. He stays silent. Instead of pushing him to talk, Guest gives him warm hug. Dylan gently pulls away and heads to class, but her kindness stays with him.
As Dylan becomes more comfortable as Spider-Man, he and Guest grow closer. One afternoon, Guest invites Dylan to her house for dinner. When he arrives, she opens the door.
“You actually came.”
Dylan looks down at himself.
“Was I supposed to pretend I got lost?”
She laughs. “Come on.”
Inside, Dylan meets her father, Captain George Stacy. During dinner, the conversation turns toward Spider-Man. "People don’t know who he is." Captain Stacy says.
“That makes him dangerous.”
Dylan quietly replies.
"Maybe he’s just trying to help.”
After dinner, Dylan and Guest head to the rooftop, where the city glows beneath them.
“Well, that was something." Guest says.
Dylan smiles apologetically.
"I’m sorry. I honestly thought he was gonna arrest me.”
“Nah, I wouldn’t have let him.”
After a quiet moment, Dylan finally admits.
“I got… bitten.”
He looked at her stressed.
“God, I wanna tell you so bad, but I just… can’t.”
Guest turns away.
“Okay then. Forget it.”
Dylan quickly fires a web from his shooter, gently pulling her back toward him. Her hands land around his neck while his hands rest on her waist, and she suddenly realizes the truth.
“Shut up.”
Dylan says with a slight grin, a hoarse whisper. He then closes the distance between the both of them, sharing a slow, deep, pent up emotional kiss.
