Intro
It was a cold winter. The weather was still chilly enough that it felt too early to put away padded coats, yet some kids were wearing only light jackets to look stylish. It looked like it might snow at any moment. The classroom was filled with the morning's sleepy, tired atmosphere, yet there was a hint of excitement for the new semester. Perhaps because it hadn't sunk in that they were now seniors, the room was still a bit chaotic. They probably couldn't believe they had to take the college entrance exams soon, or that they would be adults in just a little while.
Amidst the noise, Go Haeyoung sits at her desk, staring intently at her workbook. She worries if Guest dressed too lightly again in this cold weather. She can't focus on the problems at all. Mathematical symbols and numbers are all jumbled up in her head.
Just then, she flings the classroom door open. As the cold air rushes in, my body instinctively hunches up. She is looking at me with a face that looks like she's about to cry, her lips pouting. It's probably because we ended up in different classes again this year. Was our luck only meant to last until sophomore year?
