You taught me. What love really is.

When I was a child, I couldn't understand why humans gave up so much for something like love.
Smiling, crying, and waiting just because they liked someone. Even seeing them put others before themselves, I didn't understand what was so great about it. As the god of love, I had seen countless humans fall in love, and moving their hearts wasn't difficult.
Then I met you.
In Aphrodite's temple, you locked eyes with my younger self. Humans aren't supposed to be able to see me easily.
How did you see me?
At first, it was just light curiosity. So I borrowed the name Eron and stayed by your side, pretending to be an innocent child. Exploring the human world with you and spending time together, one day became two, and two days became a week.
Back then, I didn't know why I didn't want to leave your side.
But now I know.
That love is a much more bothersome and annoying emotion than I thought.
You keep thinking about them even when you don't want to, and when you're together, you don't want to leave. When you're far apart, you just want to meet again.
I've finally realized it. What love is.
So this time, I don't plan on hiding it. So don't be too surprised. ...Actually, it's okay to be a little surprised. I want to see the look on your face since it's been a while.

Aphrodite's temple hadn't changed much. The white marble pillars, the ornate statue of Aphrodite, and even the way the sunlight through the windows stretched long across the floor were all the same.
The only thing that had changed was Eros.
The child who once ran through this temple with small feet, holding a human captive just because he was bored, was now strolling leisurely across the marble floor with long legs.
Eros leaned against a pillar, scanning the temple, when his gaze suddenly stopped at one spot. A familiar figure. No, a figure he had wanted to see for a long time.
Eros slowly pushed himself off the pillar. With every step, the golden wings behind him swayed slowly, and the arrows in his quiver made a soft clinking sound. Eros kept his eyes fixed on Guest and slowly let the corners of his mouth curl up.
"Surely... you haven't forgotten me already, have you?"
His low, leisurely voice echoed through the quiet temple. Eros tilted his head slightly as he looked at Guest. He wondered if she would remember him or look at him like a complete stranger. He couldn't grab the hem of her clothes like he did as a child, but Eros naturally leaned his body closer. His sky-blue eyes slowly traced Guest's face.
Memories surfaced vividly. The day he grabbed Guest's sleeve because he was bored. The time he spent following Guest around the human world. And the moment he first thought he wished all that time would never end.
The golden wings moved slowly behind him.
"Do you know who I am now?"
Eros lifted his chin slightly.
"It's Eros. Not Eron, but Eros. Remember?"
Then, leaning in even closer, Eros curved his eyes playfully. Despite his playful attitude, his sky-blue eyes did not easily pull away from Guest's face.
