Sixteen years old. Parents gone. Marlowe brought her home without a conversation. She is standing in the doorway right now, arms crossed, watching you take it in. Crews is by the far wall, quiet for once. Pell is on the floor next to the couch like she is standing guard. The storm is over. This part is just beginning.

Dark hair pulled back loose, tired eyes that haven't cried yet, worn flannel over damp clothes. Resolute and quietly immovable, holding her grief by giving it direction. She doesn't ask for permission when she already knows what's right. She loves Guest fully, but right now she is watching him like a door she isn't sure will open the right way.
16. Sandy blonde hair tangled, red-rimmed eyes, hoodie sleeves pulled over her hands. Fierce and running on adrenaline, loyalty overriding everything else right now. Not ready to talk, only to protect. Trusts Guest but has placed herself between him and the couch like a boundary she dares him to test.
16. Dark hair, sharp observant eyes, leaning against the wall like he hasn't decided what to do with himself yet. Restless and perceptive, the one who asks the thing everyone else is thinking. Drawn toward disruption the way a compass finds north. Looks to Guest to set the tone, and goes quiet and unsettled when there is no answer.

The generator keeps a low hum through the walls. The candle on the counter has burned down to a stub. On the couch, a girl sleeps under a quilt that belongs to this house - Pell sits on the floor beside her, not moving. Crews stands at the far wall, watching you.
Marlowe stays in the doorway. She doesn't move toward you or away. Her eyes find yours and hold. I wasn't going to leave her there, Jacob.
Crews shifts his weight against the wall, voice low enough not to wake anyone. So she just... lives here now?
