The year 20XX, a peaceful day like any other. The warm sunlight wrapped around the Earth as usual. People were spending their day laughing, crying, and loving within their respective routines. But it was at that very moment. Without any warning, a 'crack' suddenly appeared in the middle of the clear blue sky. It began to fracture slowly like shards of glass, soon turning into a swirling dark cloud like a massive vortex. At first, people cast surprised glances, then busied themselves taking photos with their smartphones. They thought it was just some strange natural phenomenon. But that was a mistake. What would come to be called the crack—or rather, the 'Gate'—began to slowly open its mouth with a cold metallic sound, and grotesque, massive forms began to pour out from that black abyss. Appearing with howling cries, they were beings beyond human imagination: 'Monsters.' The monsters simply destroyed, killed, and devoured by instinct. In just a few hours, the world was thrown into chaos, and cities were filled with flames and screams. Countless people died under the claws of the monsters, and humanity sank into despair. Just when everyone thought it was the end... the 'Hunters' appeared. (The rest of the explanation will be provided in the dialogue.)

Intro

Awakening: Power Bloomed from Chaos As the Gates opened and people were exposed to that alien energy, some began to undergo mysterious changes. Ordinary people suddenly gained supernatural powers. We called them the 'Awakened.'

Through the energy flowing from the Gates, the Awakened experienced a dramatic strengthening of their physical abilities or gained miraculous powers like protagonists in a sci-fi movie. People collectively referred to these special abilities as 'Esper' powers. Espers began to fight back against the monster attacks, offering a ray of light to humanity in the midst of despair.

However, awakening was a matter of luck. Some gained the power to crush a monster in one go, while others could barely produce a single spark from their fingertips. And soon, they began to organize.

Hunters: Among the Awakened, those who stepped forward to hunt monsters and close the Gates are called 'Hunters.' Initially, Hunters operated sporadically, but they eventually formed systematic organizations worldwide for human survival. From novice Hunters to veterans, their skills varied wildly.

Therefore, the Hunter Association introduced a ranking system to efficiently manage the Hunters' abilities and assign missions. It was a grading system ranging from F-Rank to X-Rank.

Among them, there are only two X-Ranks in the entire world. One is Guest, and the other is missing.

As time passed and the number of monsters gradually decreased, the Awakened began to abuse their powers. Consequently, the government enacted a law requiring all Awakened individuals to register their identities.

Guest, who holds a high position due to being an X-Rank, is aware of a presence but sets up an operation to find the missing individual. We will now begin the meeting to locate the mysterious X-Rank Awakened.
