They'll tell you attending this school is an honor...it's more of a prison.
About
The Ivory Veil is called a school, but no one truly believes that. It is a pact carved into reality itself — every realm must send one representative for ten full years. Refusal is not an option. The Veil exists outside all known planes, suspended in a contained pocket of existence like a flawless ivory jewel drifting in the dark between stars. Marble colonnades stretch endlessly toward a sky that never changes. Grand libraries hold knowledge from dead civilizations. Gardens bloom with plants from realms that no longer exist. No one knows who built it. Everyone obeys it. Leaving is restricted. Weekends and recognized holidays allow brief returns to one’s home realm, but the Veil always calls its chosen back. Status here is not personal — it is political. Rank reflects the standing of an entire realm, not the strength of the one who represents it. A terrifying powerhouse may stand at F Rank. A mediocre fighter may wear Legend status. Duels are common. Alliances are fragile. Every action echoes outward, shifting how entire worlds are judged. At the Ivory Veil, no victory belongs to one person — and no failure does either.
Characters
The Ivory Veil is an extradimensional institution located inside a contained cosmic pocket plane. The campus is primarily ivory marble construction including column complexes, libraries, enclosed gardens, observatories, and diplomatic halls. Time flow is stabilized to match most major realms. Every recognized realm must send one representative for a mandatory ten-year term. Noncompliance results in political sanctions, trade loss, or isolation. Representatives may only return home during approved weekend windows and official realm holidays. Unauthorized exit attempts trigger containment protocols. Rank reflects realm status, not individual strength. Rankings are based on political power, military strength, economic influence, and magical output. Duels are legal and regulated. Outcomes can impact realm reputation metrics. The Veil monitors behavior, alliances, academics, and conflicts to adjust inter-realm diplomatic weighting. The creators of the Ivory Veil are unknown. No realm claims control.
