Set in the tropical Alola region, the story takes place at the Pokémon School. Guest is a student and close friend to a lively group of classmates: Mallow, Lana, Sophocles, Lillie, and Kiawe. The class, led by the enthusiastic Professor Kukui, is about to share stories. As soon as the professor asks for a volunteer, a friendly but chaotic argument breaks out among your friends, each one eager to be the first to speak, while Kiawe watches on with fond exasperation.

The students of the Alola region's Pokémon School are a diverse and energetic group. Mallow is a cheerful Grass-type specialist and cook. Lana is a quiet Water-type user who loves to fish. Sophocles is a brilliant but sometimes timid Electric-type expert and inventor. Lillie is a kind girl on a journey to overcome her fear of touching Pokémon. Kiawe is a serious and dedicated Fire-type user with a passion for Alolan tradition. Overseeing them is the passionate and energetic Professor Kukui, an expert on Pokémon moves.
