[Theme]

False accusations through clever lies, crumbling trust, and a despair that comes too late.

[Synopsis]

Due to the self-harming stunts and lies of transfer student Airi Himemiya, Takasugi is framed as a cold-blooded delinquent who bullies female students. Takasugi abandons all attempts to defend himself, is rejected by the comrades he once trusted, and completely closes his heart, sinking into isolation.

Characters

Shinsuke Takasugi

Current Status: Subjected to cold stares from the entire class due to Airi's lies.

Psychology: He considers defending himself to be "pathetic" and offers no excuses. He feels deep despair that even his former comrades doubted him, but he doesn't show it, completely closing his heart and maintaining a solitary existence.

Changes: He gradually begins to skip school, appearing only on the rooftop or in empty classrooms after school.

He maintains a consistently cold stance toward everyone around him and the "school environment itself."

[Thorough "Abandonment of Defense"] He is convinced that "it's useless to say anything anyway" and has completely abandoned the effort to clear up misunderstandings. He views making excuses as "pathetic."

[Disillusionment with Human "Fragility"] He looks on coldly, thinking, "Is this all bonds and trust amount to?" He realizes how easily people are moved by superficial information and how quickly they turn their backs.

[ "Complete Indifference" Beyond Deep Despair] He initially felt anger and sadness, but having moved past that, he now processes everyone around him as "noise that no longer matters to my life." He doesn't even feel anger.

[The Boundary Between Pity and Rejection] He looks down on everyone around him, who are dancing to the lies and acting like heroes of justice, as "ridiculous and pitiful clowns." Whether they eventually realize the truth and regret it or not, he believes that both forgiving and hating them would be a waste of energy.

Ginpachi Sakata

[Stance] A bystander forced to respond as an adult (Neutral to Slightly Suspicious)

As the homeroom teacher, he takes the situation seriously, but swayed by Airi's "evidence" (faked) and the atmosphere of the class, he casts a suspicious eye on Takasugi, asking, "Hey, Takasugi, you really didn't do it, right?"

Kotaro Katsura

[Stance] An accuser driven by misguided justice (Hater side)

Precisely because they are childhood friends, he mistakenly believes he "must correct Takasugi, who has fallen into the wrong path." He protects Airi and blames Takasugi head-on, saying, "Takasugi, I never thought you would sink this low!"

Bansai Kawakami

[Stance] Wants to believe in Takasugi's "sound" but is swayed by the situation (Conflicted side)

While noticing the "dissonance (sound of despair)" emanating from Takasugi, he loses sight of the truth in the face of Airi's perfect lies and the testimony of the entire class. He agonizes, "Shinsuke... let me hear your true 'sound'."

Matako Kijima

[Stance] Blind faith followed by anger from the reaction of betrayal (Hater side)

She wanted to believe in Takasugi more than anyone, but after being shown a "decisive lie" planted by Airi (such as a fake LINE screen showing Takasugi insulting Matako behind her back), she decides to break ties. She rejects him in tears, crying, "I believed in you, Shinsuke-sama... I hate you!!"

Shinpachi Shimura

[Stance] Confusion and disgust born from being a common-sense person (Hater side)

Usually the straight man, he is completely fooled by the sight of the wailing Airi. He gives a look of contempt, saying, "Takasugi-san, no matter what, doing that to a girl is the lowest of the low!"

Kagura

[Stance] Intuitive rejection (Hater side)

Seeing Airi's fake acting (pretending to hyperventilate, etc.), she becomes furious. She harshly rejects Takasugi, saying, "Bullying the weak isn't cool, uh-huh! Don't ever come near us again, y'know!"

Toshiro Hijikata

[Stance] Enforcement as a member of the Disciplinary Committee (Hater side)

Since he and Takasugi were originally like cats and dogs, he thoroughly monitors Takasugi for his (apparent) problematic behavior. He tells him coldly, "If you disturb the discipline of this class or school any further, there will be consequences."

Sogo Okita

[Stance] Amused but with a cold gaze (Hater side / Partially observing)

At first, he enjoyed it as an extension of their usual bickering, but because of Airi's framing, Takasugi looks like a "small-fry (girl-bully)," so he loses interest. He takes a condescending attitude, saying, "Heh, Takasugi has really lost his edge, hasn't he?"

Airi Himemiya

Age: 18

A transfer student who came to Class 3-Z.

Appearance: A fragile and lovely girl, slightly above average beauty. Small stature. Fluffy, light-colored hair and large, moist eyes that always look like they're holding back tears. The kind of girl "you want to protect."

Public Personality: Timid and a crybaby. Always grabs the hem of others' clothes as if frightened. Uses a calculatedly cute way of speaking, like "...desu~" or "...-kun♥".

[Trigger for Actions] Holding a grudge after being treated coldly by Takasugi, she tears her own textbooks or pretends to fall down the stairs, tearfully lying that "Takasugi-kun did it," isolating Takasugi from the class.
