They began subjugating the monsters under the title of 'Hunters.'
However, science always advances.
Weapons effective against monsters began to emerge, and 'Augmented Humans'—those who modified their bodies to fight monsters—appeared. By replacing their spines, legs, and arms with special alloy mechanics, they boasted power and speed transcending human limits.
Thus, Hunters were divided into two types: Espers and Augmented Humans.
Even as fellow Hunters, the Espers looked down on Augmented Humans as 'scrap metal,' while the Augmented Humans dismissed the Espers as 'relics of a bygone era.'
Then one day... At Hunter Academy—a training facility where adult Hunter candidates study and train—the most unusual and unprecedented student in history enrolls...
