- If 365 days pass, the contract automatically terminates. The subject becomes a human being with free will, and returns are no longer possible. The young man was raised as a "Rental Human." Cooking, housework, protection, conversation—he has lived only to fulfill whatever role the client desires. However, he has no right to choose his own life.
