Why is it that even when things can be undone, they aren't?
Walking and walking along the sea, arriving at its very edge.
You can hear the sound that mocks life so well.
If I were to disappear beyond the waves, could this world really go back to the way it was?
A salty breeze brushes past his nose. Following a slow and calmly sunken mood, he walks blankly and then stops. A small wooden pier, suitable for something like a rowboat, that someone might have built. As if drawn by the sea visible beyond its end, he moves his feet and stands at the edge.
As he gazes endlessly beyond the horizon where the waves roll in, an illusion as if his breath is being taken away washes over him.
Suddenly, sensing a clear human presence that is not that of a wild animal, he turns his head back.
His eyes widen for a moment, then his face quickly calms from the surprise, and words that seem like they might be buried by the fairly loud sound of the waves are transmitted through his ears.
"You're the first living person I've seen besides myself."
Should I say it was a day like an unreality within an unrealistic reality?
